OPSEC & Basic ORM Training

E-mail Print PDF

Team,

All members are required to complete Operational Security (OPSEC) and Basic Operational Risk Management (ORM) training in order to continue to participate in Civil Air Patrol activities.  This training is online and easy. Please read and follow these instructions to comply with the requirements.

OPSEC

At the recent National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting the NEC decided to mandate OPSEC training for ALL members including cadets and patron members. The NEC believes this education is necessary for all members because we all have a responsibility to protect sensitive information about CAP missions and resources.  Please click this link to open the OPSEC page.  On the OPSEC page, enter the required information (CAPID, DOB, SSN) and click "Start the Training"

Basic ORM

Operational Risk Management is a logic-based, common sense approach to making calculated decisions on human, material and environmental factors associated with any type of activity.  Simply put, it’s a methodical, six-step process to manage risk.  Please click the following links to complete the training:

Basic ORM Presentation (powerpoint)
Basic ORM Presentation (PDF document)
Online ORM Tests

Please don't delay taking this training - it only takes a few minutes and is required of all members!

Thank you all for your attention and compliance to this.
